Please note that some courses such as English language courses (ELICOS) and foundation studies do not award a formal qualification.
ELICOS programs are designed for students who come from overseas to study English for a variety of reasons,
such as the need to develop their English-language skills to undertake further studies in Australia.
Vocational education and training (VET) enables students to gain qualifications for all types of employment, and specific skills to help them in the workplace. The providers of VET include technical and further education (TAFE) institutes and private colleges. Many of VET courses incorporate a period of on-site learning, which means you don’t just learn in a classroom, but get priceless industry experience in a genuine work environment. It’s real-world industry experience that ensures your qualifications fully prepare you for employment in your chosen industry. In addition, one of the biggest strengths of the VET system is that it provides an alternative academic pathway to higher education.
